Make Art was a free, interactive event fully designed and led by the UC San Diego AS Graphic Studio in 2019 to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. In addition to hosting student musicians, screening art films, and providing local food, the event featured six art installations. With the event director’s vision in mind, I was given creative freedom to design the Button Room installation. All 3,710 buttons were made using artwork from the previous 10 years at the AS Graphic Studio and were arranged to showcase the AS Graphic Studio logo throughout the panels. Attendants were encouraged to take a button or two as they walked through the room.
Label designed for online competition. Among over 750 entries and over 10,000 online votes, my design was selected as one of the ten Honorable Mention winners.
